Summer 2024 Course Info

General Information

  • All Early College classes carry UMaine credit and meet the general education requirements of UMaine.
  • Course registration is subject to space availability and registration will be confirmed via email. Complete applications include Student signature, Parent signature, & School Counselor approval in the portal.
  • A maximum of twelve (12) credits per academic year. Students interested in taking more credits than those approved through the Early College Programs may do so, but will be charged a reduced tuition rate for any credits over (12) credit hours.
  • Graduating HS Seniors (grad year 2024) will not be eligible to participate in Summer 2024 Early College courses.Ìý
  • Please note that most science and math courses have lecture and recitation portions as well as lab portions that are required. Please keep this in mind when selecting these courses.
  • Math and language placement exams will be required for those courses.

These sessions are approved for Early College Students:

Summer Session 2 (6 weeks): May 6–June 14
Summer Session 4 (6 weeks): June 24–August 2
Summer Session 5 (8 weeks, online only): June 24–August 16
Summer Session 7 (6 weeks): July 8–August 16
Summer Session 9 (schedules vary): check dates

*Sessions 1,3, 6 & 8 are not approved for Early College Students.Ìý

Suggested Online Courses

  • Deadlines for complete applications are one full week prior to the class start dateÌý(complete: student and parent signatures with guidance counselor approval).
  • Course Modes: All online courses are listed as either WW or DSÌý
    • WW: Fully online
    • DS: Course meets at a specific time and day as noted
  • Make sure you have adequate technology and internet connectivity available to you that will allow you to complete online or remote courses. are available from the Division for Lifelong Learning.

Suggested Live Courses in Orono, Machias, and Belfast.

  • Deadlines for applications are one full week prior to the class start date.Ìý
  • If there is no day of the week, start time, or end time listed next to your desired live course, this means that there are multiple course sections available with various days/times.Ìý
